BasePress Aspect Settings

The Aspect Settings comprehend few options that allows you to fine tune some aspects of your knowledge base.

    1. BasePress comes with some default themes and you can also create your own. All available themes are listed in the Theme menu.
      If you create one or more custom themes for BasePress they will be listed there together with the default ones.
      To create your theme or modify an existing one follow these instructions.
      You can change the theme at any time.
    2. Default Side bar Position Use this option to define the position of the sidebar. This applies to all pages but the articles as they have a dedicated option in the articles’ edit screen to select the sidebar position for each of them.
    3. Force Sidebar position on Articles Enable this option if you want all articles to use the same sidebar position. When enabled the user won’t be able to select the sidebar position in the articles’ edit screen.
    4. Knowledge Base “Choose” button text When BasePress is used for multiple knowledge bases the entry page will list all the available KBs. Each of them has a button to select it. You can use this option to change the text in the button.
    5. Knowledge Base columns allows you to choose the number of columns in the entry page.
      This is used only if you are using BasePress as a multi knowledge base.
    6. Sections columns allows you to choose the number of columns in the sections archive pages.
      This is used for both single and multi knowledge base.
    7. Limit Articles Count on multi section page allows you to specify how many articles should be shown at one in the main sections view.¬†BasePress will add, depending on the theme used a ‘View all’ link to see all articles.
    8. Limit Articles Count on single section page allows you to specify how many articles should be shown in each page for the current section. When there are more pages a pagination link will be displayed to navigate between them.
    9. Show Section Icons and Show post Icons lets you choose respectively if you want to display icons next to Sections and posts titles on archive pages.
      This influences the widget titles as well depending on the theme used.
    10. Show Articles count on Sections allows you to show or hide the post count next to the Section title on archive pages.
    11. Order Articles Alphabetically By default articles are ordered by post date or custom order if you reordered them manually. Enable this option to list your articles in alphabetical order.

Please remember that all these options are dependent on the theme used. BasePress comes with few themes which make use of all the options. If you want to make your own theme just follow the example of the default theme to keep all options available.
